Introduction
For many authors, their online presence functions only as a promotional website rather than a place where readers can meaningfully engage with their work. Books are often sold through separate retailers, while digital reading experiences live on entirely different platforms. This fragmented approach makes it difficult to create a cohesive experience that reflects the care and storytelling within the books themselves.
For Salama Bint Hazza, the objective was to create a single destination where readers could explore her catalog, purchase books, and access digital editions in one place. The platform needed to reflect the elegance and cultural depth of her stories while remaining intuitive for a diverse audience that includes children, parents, and book enthusiasts across the region.
Project Scope
The engagement covered the complete design and development of the author’s official website and digital bookstore.
Brand aligned UI and experience design for the full website.
Custom ecommerce setup supporting physical and digital books.
Integration of the Kotobee platform with built-in reader.
Conversion of existing PDF titles into interactive ebooks.
Structured content architecture and search friendly site structure.
Performance optimization and foundations for ongoing support.
Core Challenge
The central challenge was balancing visual storytelling with technical robustness. The platform needed to capture the cultural character and warmth of the author’s work while delivering a seamless experience for browsing, purchasing, and reading. At the same time it required secure digital book delivery, cross device compatibility, and a smooth transition from purchase to reading within a single environment.

Solution
Bevy One designed and built a unified platform that brings storytelling, commerce, and reading together within a single digital experience. The website functions as the author’s official presence while also operating as a fully integrated bookstore and digital reading library.
The project focused on building a refined design language around the books themselves while developing the infrastructure needed to support both physical and digital publishing.
Experience Design
The interface was designed to place the books at the center of the experience. Soft color palettes, elegant typography, and clean layouts create an inviting environment that reflects the tone of the stories while remaining accessible for parents and young readers.
Integrated Bookstore
A dedicated ecommerce layer enables visitors to purchase both physical books and digital editions directly through the site. Product pages present each title clearly while the checkout flow remains simple and familiar for regional audiences.
Interactive Ebook Library
To deliver an engaging reading experience, the platform integrates the Kotobee reader directly into the website. Existing PDF titles were converted into interactive ebooks so readers can open and read books seamlessly across devices.
Structured Content Architecture
The site was built with a clear information structure and search friendly foundation, allowing readers searching for children’s stories, Emirati books, or educational reading material to discover the author’s work easily.
